EE Steps Up To Support The Community
Yesterday founder James Kelly and David Hassall headed over to speak with the team at EE. They went in to deliver an in depth presentation to give the staff a genuine understanding of what No Man Left Inside actually does on the ground as a local charity. The session opened with a stark look at the challenges modern men face on a daily basis. Too many guys are trapped behind closed doors, staring at screens and carrying their heavy burdens in silence. The founders explained that NMLI is a proactive community built right here in Lancaster to combat this exact crisis. By stepping away from the traditional clinical setting the charity aims to provide the kind of practical men’s mental health support UK communities desperately need.
The team at EE listened closely as the core pillars of the charity were broken down into the NMLI Trinity. This unique approach consists of physical resilience, relentless support and spiritual grounding. The staff saw exactly how the outdoor activities and cold water exposure directly help tackle the daily isolation men face. Whether it is scaled high intensity training at Williamson Park, river dips at Woodies car park or full weekend retreats in the Lake District the goal remains exactly the same. The environment is specifically designed to break down social barriers so men can open up naturally without any awkwardness. The founders made it clear that this charity welcomes men of all abilities, ages and backgrounds. There is absolutely no ego involved because the group operates on the core principle that iron sharpens iron.
The October 10k Challenge
Following the presentation No Man Left Inside is incredibly proud to announce that the EE team is officially fundraising for the charity. On Thursday the 31st of October they will be taking on a sponsored 10k run along the local promenade. The event will see the staff pushing their physical limits for a fantastic cause. They are aiming to raise one hundred pounds per participant to help keep these vital support sessions running. Corporate partnerships like this are absolutely vital for grassroots organisations to survive and thrive. The funds raised will go directly towards facilitating more outdoor training sessions, securing fitness equipment and ensuring that financial barriers never stop a man from accessing top tier men’s mental health support UK wide.
How NMLI Is Supporting The Runners
The NMLI team believes in taking action and providing practical support so they are not just sitting back while the EE staff put the hard work in. They are stepping up to help the corporate team cross the finish line safely.
- Training Partners – The charity is pairing up some of the regular NMLI attendees with EE colleagues who might be less confident runners. They will be running casual group training sessions on the build up to the October event to make sure everyone trains effectively. This ensures nobody feels intimidated by having to train entirely alone.
- Race Day Team Building – To show complete solidarity NMLI is putting a dedicated team together to run the actual 10k alongside the EE staff. The lads will be carrying their renowned four man stretcher for the entire distance. It serves as a highly powerful visual symbol of carrying the weight together as a united team.
- Group Motivation – NMLI members are jumping directly into the EE fundraising to keep the momentum high and help those taking part coordinate training runs around their varied shift patterns.
A massive thank you goes out to Jade and the entire team at EE for hosting the presentation and for putting their energy right behind the charity. When local corporate teams step out of the office to support grassroots organisations it proves that the community is truly building strong men to build stronger communities. This collaboration highlights the incredible things that happen when businesses champion proper men’s mental health support UK wide. Keep a close eye on the NMLI social media channels for regular updates as the 10k training gets officially underway.
